Ethan Potter was an umm, unusual kid. Other than being a wizard, he was the grandson of one of the most famous wizards of all time, Harry Potter. He’s only met his grandfather 3 times.
One time was when he was only 2 years old in Godric’s Hollow when his Grandfather came to see him. The other time was when Ethan was 7 and, most recently, when he got his Hogwarts letter of administration.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Dear Mr. Potter,
We are pleased to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.

First years will require:
- Three sets of plain black robes
- One plain black pointed hat
- One black winter cloak
- One pair of protective gloves
Set books
All students should have a copy of the following:
- The Standard Book of Spells (Grade 1)
- A History of Magic
- Magical Theory
- A Beginner’s Guide to Transfiguration
- One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi
- Magical Drafts and Potions
- Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
- The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection
Other Equipment:
- 1 wand
- 1 cauldron (Pewter)
- 1 Set glass or crystal vials
- 1 set of potion ingredients
- 1 telescope
- 1 brass scale
- 1 set of parchment, quills, and ink
Students may also bring a pet (owl, cat, rabbit, turtle, or a toad)
Ethan was full of joy when he received the letter from Hogwarts. That day, his grandfather bought him his books so he could read about the wonderful spells. Ethan naturally skipped to the spells that looked interesting to him.
In exactly one day, Ethan would be on his way to Hogwarts, Ethan dreamed of how the castle overlooked the lake and how large the grand castle would be.
Ethan was anxiously walking around with nothing to do while his mom asked, “Ethan, have you packed for school?”
“For the millionth time, Mom, I have.”
“Just checking.” His mom replied while hurrying to the kitchen to cook the evening meal. Ethan merely shrugged and walked away towards the stairs.
After an hour passed Ethan’s Mom called him over, “Foods ready, please come eat.”
As Ethan walked down the stairs, he said, “Coming.” As Ethan’s Mom prepared the table, Ethan sat down comfortably and waited patiently. Soon, his mother brought the food over, and Ethan smelled the delicious Shepherd Pie.
Soon after eating his food, he raced back to his book to read about the fantastic history of Hogwarts. Soon, Ethan started to pack up for his day tomorrow when he would get onto the Hogwarts Express at 11 am.
Ethan packed all his books, belongings, wand, and everything he could think of. Ethan next rushed to his room as he wanted to sleep so he could rest for the next day.
Once Ethan dressed and got ready for the day, which included showering, brushing his teeth, and eating breakfast, he checked the time.
On the clock, it read 9:40 am. “Honey, are you ready to head for the station?” Asked his mom. “Of course,” Ethan replied while tying his shoes.
Soon, they reached Kings Cross Station, and Ethan looked around for the train. “Where is it? Ethan asked. “Follow me.” His mom replied.
They came across a wall between 9 and 10. “Follow me.” Mom said as walking straight through the wall. Ethan followed, amazed.
As soon as he stepped through he heard a rush of sound. All around him, wizards and witches stood watching their kids from 11 through 18 hop onto the train.
“Bye, Mom,” Ethan said, carrying his stuff. “Bye, Ethan, don’t get into trouble, I’m expecting good grades, I’ll send you letters occasionally of course.”
His mom said as tears ran down her face. Then Ethan hopped onto the train.
