The giant squid is an inhabitant of the seas of Japan. Its scientific name is Architeuthis Dux.

It is also known to be the largest invertebrate on the planet. Their eyes have been recorded to be 10 inches in diameter.

Instead of a mouth, squids have beaks, kinda like birds. They mostly eat deep sea fish, sometimes they will cannibalize and eat their own kind.

They have ten arms two are longer than the other eight. The long ones are used to catch prey.

Squid blood is blue. The reason it is that color is because of a copper-containing compound called hemocyanin.

That’s all for now. More animal fact posts soon!
