Aside from going to the beach, eating ice cream, or playing video games with friends, there’s nothing quite like getting lost in a good book during the summer. It’s a great way to relax and escape into exciting new worlds, right?
For book lovers or those who want to get into your reading journey, you will love this news!
You can get free books by joining Barnes & Noble’s Summer Reading Program. However, it is currently only available in the U.S. for now.
Yes. You read that right!
To finish the program, kids must read eight books over the summer. They can be library books, books borrowed from friends, or books bought at Barnes & Noble.
After that, you just need to write down the book’s title, author, and what you liked about the book on the Summer Reading sheet. Then, take the completed Reading Journal to your local Barnes & Noble store.
You can then pick a free book from the list on the Reading Journal and get it from a store near them from July 1 to August 31, 2024.
The program offers a variety of books from popular authors to choose from based on kids’ ages.
Kids in first or second grade can get The Boxcar Children, The Bad Guys, The Princess in Black, the Prince in Pink, and more.
Kids in grades 3 and 4 can get The Tail of Emily Windsnap, Big Nate Goes Bananas!, Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior: An Unofficial Minecraft Adventure, and more.
Fifth and Sixth graders can pick A Wrinkle in Time, Daughter of the Deep, 39 Clues: Maze of Bones: A Graphic Novel, and more.
You can learn more about the summer reading program on the company’s website and get the form there. Parents can also find which Barnes and Noble stores are participating.
